Black Eye

Yesterday we had a thunderstorm! It was so refreshing to see RAIN! I don't think we have had a drop at our house since before Livy was born! It was nice because afterwards it had cooled off into the 70's, quite a change from the over 100 degrees we have had every. single. day. lol. I took the girls for a nice walk and Avery picked up a stick along the way home. It wasn't big, just like the size of a "princess wand" so I let her bring it in the house. I went in the kitchen to do something then heard Avery let out a horrific scream and I turn around and she has her eye covered! All I could think was "oh no, she poked her eye out!!"! It took a few minutes before she would show me and when she did she had a little bit of pink discharge coming out but it all looked fine. It turns out she was hitting a picture frame on the wall with the stick and it fell and hit the corner of her eye. A few hours later he eye was swollen shut, poor thing! this morning though it is a nice purple bruise that just looks like she is wearing eye shadow, haha. And of course it's on the same side of her face that last week she ran into the couch and had a HUGE bruise on her cheek. I swear we do not beat our children! LOL. I tried to get a picture of her "pretty eyeshadow" but every time I told her to close her eyes she would squint and you couldn't see it, but you can sort of see where the purple is. Add this to 2 scraped knees from falling during our walk and you have one sad looking little girl! She quit crying as soon as she got a cooking though for letting me look ;) Oh and please ignore the ketchup on her face(we had just eaten lunch).
